Im glad some one has posted about fish and aquariums. I just aquired a 75 gallon tank with stand. I has been sitting up for a while so I have alot of cleaning to do. I have a few questions but no simple answers that I can find out on the web. I has been a while since my grade school days then I had a 10 gallon walmart special tank and fish. Now I am grown up with grown up ideas. But I have a 2 year old daughter and a wife who want it to be all pretty and cute like. While still having some cool fish.
Now on to my questions.
1 - I am looking for a replicable web site or store in the montgomery/conroe area to purchase parts and supplies.
2 - I am kinda lost on which filter and heater would be best for the tank.
I am always welcome to suggestions. Goose

Stores I cant help with, Im a sheep and just to to petsmart. Filter- get on CL or fleabay and get a Fluval 4 serires. WORD TO THE WISE! after service, they leak! google that shit, everyone says so. the leaking will stop but dont make the mistake i did. go and find a 5 gal. bucket, cut the top off (leaving you with about a 2-3 gal bucket with no top/handle) and set the pump in that. THEN if you get real fancy go buy a water alarm. Homes Depot sales them for water heaters. The idea is that you place a pad in the bottom of the bucket and when/if the pad gets wet it will......alert you....... otherwise you wake up 5 gal of water in your carpet. Heater- DO NOT GET TOPFIN! I have gone through 3 of them in the last year! I just replaced it with a Marineland, (see link) but I can only say the Marineland works, cant say much about the reliability as I have only had it for about 2 months. However its not made of glass so that rocks. Fluval also makes heaters but I have not used them. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.j ... Id=2754055 -heater http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.j ... Id=2753121 - Fluval 405 $239.99

An up date about my fish tank. My wife picked out the fish so I had little say in it. But it makes her happy. Enjoy. I set my 75 gallon tank were i wanted it and placed the sand and filters in place. I filled the tank with my water hose and this is what it looked like for about 2 days. The Aqua Clear filters and some dechlorination it all balanced out. Nice and Clean. I allowed my tank to settle for 1 week with my aqua clear 70 filters running. I checked the temp every few hours to balance my temp in the tank. Also Every day for 5 days I checked the balance of the water and got everything almost right. My PH was a little low but easily fixable. Blue Jelly Bean Parrot and Strips. Fish playing peck a boo.

To make the old lady happy I had to do something. The filters I know I know.. I should have gone with a canister and I learned. I am budgeting for a canister in the the future. The fish again the wife. I wanted aggressive fish but she wanted pretty fish. So to save my self a bunch of heart ach I let her pick the fish. Something you have to sacrifice for the better good.
Im happy with what I have right now and in the future I will up grade to better equipment.
Goose
P.S. No I never went into walmart or petsmart to get equipment, fish or anything else. It was all online and fish specialty.
